The whole “Play of The Week” started as something called “Booster Shot” way back about a year ago. Originally, it’s grand concept was to be something along the line of “throwback Thursday (TBT).”
You know, the type of thing that pops up on Twitter or Instagram …………..well ……………….on Thursdays.
Reflecting back, it evolved in the course of just a few weeks, as a way to keep posting at least something, anything …………..even if it wasn’t a trip report when I was in a bit of a “funk – shall we say” in the late fall of 2016.
My thought process(if you want to call it even “a thought process”), was exceedingly similar to something like…….. “ya dumb ass……….how easy is it just to post a picture?………really?……is it that difficult?”
Lucky for me, early in 2017 the “funk” lifted and the “Play of The Week” started to become more of an outlet to express where I was in life at the time. And if that wasn’t enough, it allowed me to ramble on about living and life from my perspective as I spent time outdoors and was open to what nature might be able to inspire me with or teach me.
Which is asking a lot of Mother Nature……..I was never and still am not an easy student to work with.
Honestly, if you want to get to know more of “how I tick”, read the “Play of the Week” posts. There is a lot more of who I really am in those posts, than in anything else.
So this morning sitting in my warm house as the outside temperatures hover around the “too damn cold mark”……..
……………….I’m scratching my head, pondering what to do with this “Play of The Week………..thing.”
I like the concept and for the most part, I ‘m quite pleased with the results of the “Play of The Week” posts. I guess it stems from the fact that being in nature and the outdoors, whether it be a simple hike or a more “hair-raising” adventure and everything in-between can be a metaphor for living.
And this is the big thing…………
At least it’s like that for me. Not all the time……but when I’m open and ready.
But………if that’s not you…….and you’re thinking ……..“oh man………you’re way over-analyzing something that’s very simple”………..well……….that’s alright too.
So, not to just sit around; wait and slowly waste away like this fella in Canmore, for some sort of divine inspiration to fall out the freezing heavens……..
……..we’re going to keep paddling forward……towards different and new exciting horizons
I do think however that a new name is in order…..time to retire “Play of The Week”……..that name has run its course and the time has arrived for a new path……a new and fresh………name….
Unfortunately, don’t have the new name yet!
So. today and at 6:30am and even though it’s still “freaking ……..mind-numbingly………. freezing” outside…….
I may just take some advice………….
