This painting was inspired by the landscape in both the area where we live and as well as many views and areas across Nova Scotia.
Steep cliffs, water, and depending on the season wildflowers.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been studying and practicing online to become more assertive in my techniques and use of bold colour. And as well, to work on trusting the process of getting to the end.
In painting(so I’ve found out) that layering a variety of hues of colour is one key to creating depth and texture within the painting. This takes a significant dose of trust to “trust” that what you may be doing at any one point in the process will work out and get you to where you want to be in the end.
And it is still an ongoing process.
Fun, challenging…..but in the end……satisfying.
