Is it really Week 10?
It is and another good one at that.
Art(including pictures and images) should evoke an emotional response in those who are viewing them. That’s why art can leave such a long-lasting and poignant imprint within the depths of our psyche
Your challenge or writing prompt is this:
- what emotions or feelings get evoked or aroused in you when you look at this photograph taken by Lynn
Remember, the goal isn’t necessarily to tell me and others exactly what the picture is.
The creative goal for all of us is “what does the picture evoke in you; what emotion; feeling; memory or whatever it may be – what does it arouse in you and to share it that with others.“

Week 10 was taken just as Rosseau Falls empties into Lake Rosseau, located in the north Muskoka area of the province.
A few points to help along the way:
- write a post on your own blog and create a pingback to link back to the original post(this one)
- I’ll reblog your post on my blog when I get the notification
- write an original story; perhaps your own thoughts; maybe some poetry or even a simply one word response. Maybe even post that says “it does nothing; means nothing”
- regardless, whatever you write must encapsulate the emotion or feeling evoked or aroused in you from the picture
- no limit on the length(I guess)
- keep it a “family friendly” as possible(not looking to delete or not approve stuff)
Be sure to tag your responses with:
#lynntuesdaypictureprompt or
#ltpp
Looking forward to your thoughts!
— get outdoors; find inspiration; discover yourself —
that honestly looks more like a painting than a photo!
Speaks to me of Canada … of hunters and moose, of canoeing down through those rapids 🙂

True. But I can assure you, you wouldn’t what to try a canoe trip down those ones. They are much harder and dangerous than the picture shows.

hey I’m wondering if I would canoe on a perfectly calm river … I would never attempt nominal rapids let alone this roaring torrent!

Likely a good and wise choice there Kate. The rapids in thr foreground simply drop vertically in the horizon to the lake below.

wow I just got dizzy reading that!

Hahaha – I bet.
It empties into Lake Rosseau. There wouldn’t be a cottage/home on that lake under 1 to 2 million dollars. Rosseau is one of “the big three” lakes in Muskoka, which is considered Ontario’s prime resort and cottage area.

Yeah I tried a save as option as well as clicking the save button on the image – (which is not published yet as I was waiting to see if you could provide a fix) I am unable to upload it.

That’s very weird. I was able to copy the url and paste it into a draft post as a link for a ping back. Not sure what to say or do Carol.

I did try that but got the same message. I will try once more.

Not sure what is happening Carol. I haven’t had any other comments about not being able to copy and paste the url.
If you still are having issues, maybe simply respond to the prompt in the comments block?

Pingback: Lynn’s Tuesday Picture Prompt Week 9 – A Reblog From Sadje – justabitfurther
This is the post I wanted to publish along with the image:
Carried Away
Life is a lot like living on a piece of driftwood being carried away on wild white waters. Rapids push me this way and that. I cannot seem to get purchase as I struggle against the waves. Green pines beckon as I go under once more. But I am strong and I will hold on despite the rocks that bruise and threaten to crush me. I come up for air and grasp more firmly the bit of log that has sustained me on this wild ride. Slowly the waters calm and I drift close to shore. My feet touch bottom. I am safe.

Thanks Carol. I have no idea what is happening.
What I’ll do is simply copy what you sent into a reblog post.
Perhpas next time things will work as they should. Damn technology. lol

Yeah, I thought perhaps it was Firefox blocking it so signed in under Chrome but with same result. I have no idea why. I tried every way I could to no avail. Yes technology can be a pain in the butt. LOL
