Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award

A pleasant surprise to find this nomination/award from Dr, Tanya(Salted Caramel) in my comments section a few days ago.

So, thanks to Dr. Tanya(Salted Caramel) for the kind thoughts and including me. This is going to be great fun.

A Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award.

awardI had to do a bit of digging to find out who “Vincent Ehindero” is and what the blogging award is all about.

Vincent has a blog on WordPress, which deals with helping and encouraging people with personal and business growth.

And obviously, he has created the “Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award”  – “i’m proud of the great work you are doing on your blog.”

As with any of these awards, there are a few rules to follow and Vincent’s is not much different.

Rules:

Thank the person that nominated you with a link to their blog.

• Make a post of the award (with a photo).

• Post the rules.

• Ask 5-10 questions of your choice.

• Nominate 10-30 other bloggers.

• Follow Vincent Ehindero at vincentehindero.wordpress.com (to qualify for free blog promotion and shoutout) and more blogging opportunities.

Here’s a bunch of questions that Dr. Tanya wants me to tackle.

  • What’s the last movie that you watched?

Don’t remember. I’m not a big movie watcher. Find it hard to keep focussed watching a movie for a couple of hours.

  • What is your favourite thing to do on a rainy day?

Read a book or put our rain gear on and go for a hike. Fewer people on the trails when the weather is miserable.

  • What are you doing to beat the lockdown blues?

What lockdown? lol

Being a frontline worker, I’ve actually been working more for the past two and a half months than ever before.

  • How long can you go without using your phone?

Usually, only the seven hours when I’m in bed.

  • What do you most value in your friends?

Honesty, understanding and empathy.

  • Do you have a favourite fictional character? What makes her/him your favourite?

Sherlock Holmes would be my most favourite fictional character. I like the Victorian/early 1900’s novel genre. The setting of a foggy London backstreet; the clip-clop sound of horse’s hooves on the cobble-stoned road as a new client arrives at 221b Baker Street. Even the television series of “Sherlock” with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman I found very exciting and a great twist on the original stories.

  • Winter or Summer?

Summer if I need to pick. The fall season here in Canada where I live can and most often is spectacular.

  • What is love, in your point of view?

Unconditional and sacrifice.

What is your favourite movie or TV show?

LOST was by far my favourite TV show. The suspense, plot twists and spiritual/metaphysical aspects kept both Lynn and I engaged for all six seasons. We both loved the show. Have all six seasons on DVD.

  • If you could time travel, where (when?) would you go?

Knowing what we know now, I would go back to just pre COVID_19; get in the car and drive or fly to visit our daughter on the east coast of Canada.

image000000_02Lynn and I would rather have been locked down in Halifax and be able to at least see her at a distance of six feet(now we could have a two-family bubble there and hug her), as compared to being stuck in Ontario with no foreseeable chance to visit with her in 2020.

Unfortunately, those of us living in Ontario are viewed as “plague carriers” by many living in other provinces across the country. Hence inter-provincial border closures. Funny thing is, where I live in a town of almost 18,000 people, there have only been five or six cases(all travel-related and all self-quarantined at home); no hospitalizations and no deaths. So, go figure.

A big thanks again to Dr. Tanya(Salted Caramel) for the nomination.

And if you’re reading this right now – consider yourself nomination and answer the same questions that Dr. Tanya asked me.

It’s always nice to get to know a little bit more about each one of you.
